Cortona will amaze you with its ancient steeets and churches and the ruins dating back to the Etruscan time. In Cortona you will have time to discover with your guide the town most famous sights starting from Piazza Garibaldi with its spectacular view all over the Valdichiana, Church San Domenico, via Nazionale, Piazza della Repubblica with the Town Hall, San Francesco and the Duomo Church. And you will immediately recognize that it was the location where the very popular movie “Under the Tuscan sun” was filmed!
Leaving Cortona you will enjoy an idyllic landscape of vineyards and gentle hills to get to Montepulciano with its steep streets lined up by ancient palaces where you will have time to taste in the old town cellars the famous red wine produced here called Vino Nobile, to visit the Duomo, the Palazzo Pubblico and the 16th Church of San Biagio, a masterpiece of the Renaissance architecture.
In the famous Renaissance town of Pienza you’ll have time to wander its streets accompanied by your guide who will explain you the reason why it is known as the “ideal city” -planned to accomplish the wishes of the humanist pope Pius II- and to explore the magnificent Duomo and the Piazza with the Palazzo Piccolomini, the former papal residence in town. In Pienza you can also taste the local pecorino cheese and along the way you’ll enjoy views of Val d'Orcia, one of Tuscany’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
