Cortona is a small town of Etruscan origins, rich in art, history and museums.
It was made famous by the American writer Frances Mayes in the novel Under the Tuscan Sun. Its wonderful hilltop location is unique and the view over the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno simply stunning. Stolling over pictoresque alleys ans squares you will walk on Via Nazionale, the only level street of Cortona, with its charming boutiques, stopping at Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the sunshine as the locals do. Then entering the Duomo, the San Domenico and San the Francesco Church can make you feel as part of this town community.
