My name is Susanna Buricchi, I am an Art Historian who graduated and specialized at the University of Florence and a researcher in the fields of the Medici Family Art Collections and the the Renaissance Art in Florence and Tuscany. I speak English and French, as I did some studies abroad and I have been leaving in Paris for one year with a scholarship.
I am the author of various art books, essays and catalogues , of a book about the Uffizi Gallery and of another book about the Renaissance Art in Florence that has been translated onto English and published in 2007 by Barnes and Noble in the U.S. Some of my boooks have been translated into other different languages.
Since 1994 I have worked to the project of inventorying and cataloguing several National Cultural Heritage Properties and collections of artworks and historical gardens in Tuscany. I also took part to the restoration project of the famous Piero della Francesca’s frescoes with the Legend of the true Cross in Arezzo and I has been teaching and working in collaboration projects with the Regione Toscana, Province of Florence and University of Florence. I have also been charged in curating and organizing art exhibitions in different cities since 2005 and I am currently an art lecturer.
Since 2007 I have been appointed of the very prestigious honorificence of “Accademica d’Onore” (Honoured Member) of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence (Academy of the Arts of Drawing) for the Class of “ART HISTORY”. The Accademia delle Arti del Disegno was established in 1563 by Cosimo I de’Medici and Giorgio Vasari and dedicated to Michelangelo. It’s the oldest worlds’ Art Institution
I am also an official Art and Tour Guide licensed by the City of Florence having been authorizhed to lead tours also in Arezzo and Cortona in Tuscany since 1998.
